Police searching for missing Lansing girl, 14
Police are searching for a Lansing girl they believe ran away from home Sunday.

Brianna Jackson, 14, apparently left her father's home in the 1500 block Barnes about 9 a.m. Sunday, said Lansing police Lt. Noel Garcia.
Her parents told police that she has diminished mental capacity, and they are worried for her safety, police said. Parents reported she has run away before, but never for this long.
Garcia said the Alexandria, Va.-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has offered to create flyers to aid in the search for Brianna.
If you have information about the missing girl, call police at 483-4600.
City Council might vote on deficit elimination plan
Lansing City Council members could vote today on Mayor Virg Bernero's latest deficit elimination plan.
It will be a discussion/action item during the 1:30 p.m. Committee of the Whole meeting at City Hall, 124 W. Michigan Ave.
Council rejected the mayor's original $3.85 million deficit elimination plan, which included an executive order of job reductions and budget amendments of adjusted revenues and expenditures.
Thirty-one positions still were eliminated for this budget year.
The mayor introduced a new set of budget amendments totaling $1.95 million last month.
They mirrored the original ones excluding the addition of grant money that saved one position.
